VAN DYCK AGAIN LOOKS TO METROPLEX FOR HELP.(CAPITAL REGION)

For the second time in a year, the owner of the Van Dyck restaurant and jazz club has asked the Metroplex Development Authority to refinance $1.5 million in debt on the Stockade landmark.

Peter Olsen, an advertising executive, said refinancing the club's bank and Schenectady Economic Development Corp. loans with a low- or no-interest loan from taxpayer-funded Metroplex would slice the monthly principal and interest payments, ensuring the survival of the 57-year-old club on Union Street.
